Goal:  live happy. explore daily. work differently.  …and build the color palette while seeking sun and being inspired by the outdoors with no interruptions.

three designers
two days
one creative director
65 lbs of color chips
a whole lotta optimism…

Three days of immersing ourselves in outdoor activities while surrounded by color and design inspiration is an incredible and productive way to work. On our trip to Palm Springs we hiked Joshua Tree, Palm Canyon, went on an amazing Architecture Tour and worked the color palette for Spring 2015! Then cheers’d to the end of a rewarding assignment.

Thankful for the awesome experience and to be surrounded by inspiring talent everyday.

Black & White paired with color

Tank  |  Belt (vintage but similar HERE)  |  Skirt (old but similar HERE)  |  Shoes

There is nothing easier to wear then black and white, especially when paired with colorful patterns. It’s crisp, modern, simple and uncomplicated in this complicated world.

I look forward to sharing pictures of my last couple of weeks adventures, as well as our home projects that are keeping hairs from staying attached to our heads. I mean head ♥ Reffrey’s bald ♥ !

Gunmetal wing necklace

Joanna Laura Constantine Necklace  |  Tory Burch Military shirt
J. Crew A-Line skirt (similar)  |  House of Harlow Sunglasses  |  Rachel Comey oxfords

These days I am thankful for dress wearing weather and for having a slightly natural tan for easy-on-the-eyeball seasonal skirt length transition. Thank you mom and dad!

A majority of my outfit posts will be carryover pieces from summer 2012 but I will often plug in new pieces like this Joanna Laura Constantine gunmetal wing necklace I found on Bluefly.com. This is a great site for bargains as they often send out $30 off purchase emails if you subscribe to them.

A-line skirts: wear them! I tend to gravitate towards above knee skirts because of my short height. Be mindful of skirts that drop below the knee if you have shorter legs. Because it cuts your length off at the widest part of your calf, be sure to wear a shoe that gives you some height. This style is so comfortable to wear dressed up, show a little leg yet have enough length to sit criss-cross-apple-sauce for a picnic in the grass.

Shoulder bag snag

Abrial Shoulder Bag  |  Forever 21 tiger tank (similar)
Anthropologie knit skirt (old)  |  Lucky platform heels

Anthropologie has a perk card called “anthro” where you receive birthday discounts, free shipping, advanced notice of sales and so on for it’s members. Being that my birthday is the 18th of May I made off with this quadruple pocket hip party with my 15% off birthday discount.

I’m guessing if you live in PNW the only thing on your mind currently is the 85 degree days approaching us right now. I often tell the story of the amazing summer back in the early 2000’s when I floated the Clackamas River in March; this might be the earliest hot weather weekend Portland’s had since. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself and I’m accepting this problem with funny jiggles and my elbow up, naturally!

The price is Wright | April’s eBay Share

 img_2668 img_2675 img_2690 img_2715
April’s eBay share: J. Crew striped dress, Jeffrey Campbell clogs (old) and leather laces. All purchased new or pre-owned from eBay.

I have been selling and buying on eBay since 2002 so I rarely pay attention to the number of feedbacks.  829 feedbacks from sellers and buyers… eBay Junky!?! I am so curious what my number of transactions is being that only a quarter of buyers and sellers actually take the time to leave feedback? Sometimes I wonder if I could make it a full time job minus the shipping.

Side note: Frequent Goodwill pop-ins are worth it when you snag a shrunken wool coat for $9!

ABOUT THE BLOG

Wright for Michele is a Portland based lifestyle blog devoted to cultivating stylish, relatable and creative content. It also serves as a personal time capsule of my family’s journeys, giggling and stumbling a bit, through it all.

I started "Wright for Michele" back in 2010 as a creative outlet and to share the things I love (basically the exact same reason the rest of the internet started blogging). Often this blog is about family, sometimes it’s about style, and in general it’s about life and how you (and me) can make every single area in it, better. It’s simple, it’s real (sometimes a little raw and almost always full of grammatical errors), it’s honest and hopefully no matter what it’s a little sweet.
