Color Coded

Color coded | Nature’s calling

Seen in green. Mint, kelly, apple, you name it, I’m into it.

This week I’ve been anticipating escaping the city to be in the trees, on the water and surrounded by nature. Camping starts in T minus 18 hours with good friends and couldn’t be happier. By no means will my surroundings look anything of sort to the photo’s above, but I truly could be sitting in the middle of a mud puddle with a smore’s in one hand and a beer in the other and undoubtedly feel like I am. #vacationdeprived

I’ve scored some serious deals on some cute little items and thought I’d share them with you. I tend to get a little impatient while shopping in person; being in a stuffy mall and the feeling of being locked inside with no sight of the outside world gives me the heebies.  But ever so often I’ll venture out and run into some amazing finds I wouldn’t have otherwise found. Details below from top to bottom, left to right:

H&M Sandals – $34.95 adorable and cheap! Click HERE for details
Zara mint Blazer – $59.00 well made and beautiful bright color! Click HERE for details
J.Crew Tessellate Necklace – $38.00 was $89 during their 40% off sale… sign up for their emails. Its sold out but find similar HERE
Rebecca Minkoff Studded Affair Bag – Bought mine on eBay for a third of the price. I suggest you do the same. Wink!
Target wedges – $29.99 shockingly comfortable. Go out now to find them at your local store, I bought mine 2 days ago and they were the only pair. They don’t carry them online. 🙁

That’s all folks. I’m off to wrangle my camping gear and DIY some adult sippy cups out of mason jars. It’s time to PARTY!

Have a good weekend!

Color Coded | Nature’s neons

I am in love with this neon craze that is happening; an 80’s throwback and beautiful hues to capture in nature. As a kid my dresser drawer was filled with Fluorescent socks ready to layer one over the other then paired with Keds, bodysuits layered with shorts and cropped tops splashed with fluorescent paint; I craved trends then as much as I do now. “Back in the day when I was young I’m not a kid anymore but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again”.

I found this bandeau on Tobi.com right before my girls vegas trip in May. I had yet to wear it in Portland until just this last weekend when Portland’s Produce Row held their “Do Over” event, and it was HOT! Jeff and I were convinced we needed to go so we arrived 15 minutes before the event started ensuring ourselves a short wait in line… the line was around the block when we arrived. “All dressed up and no where to go”.  Even better though, we joined our friends Stephanie and Tommy to run around North Portland in the hot sun listening to good music.

You can find this Bandage Bandeau on Tobi.com HERE.
Another online store I talk about frequently is Asos; based in the UK but shipping is free as well as returns. So the great thing about asos is that they carry an awesome selection of brands as well as their own label (my personal favorite and affordable). The clutch shown above came from their ASOS WHITE collection. This particular portfolio clutch is sold out but similar HERE.

Personal Style

The price is Wright | eBay story

Madewell chambray shirt
Jcrew neon vintage wash Tshirt
Wilfred shorts (Similar HERE)
Jeffrey Campbell Tripoli boots
Rebecca Minkoff Studded Affair bag (Sold out but similar HERE)

If you know me well you’ll know how crazy I am about eBay. I love the hunt of finding a good deal as well as making money on pieces that are in good shape in order to rebuild funds for my fashion spending habit. You’ll see me list out where I found the items in my outfit below the photo’s but 75% of the time I purchased the item from eBay. That being said there are high chances that the items in the photo’s will one day be listed on eBay for sale if I take good care of it.

I often tell people about the opportunity to save money on eBay but some are skeptical for many reasons, and rightfully so. But have no doubt, sellers want to keep a good standing with eBay and 99% of the time the buyer runs the show. Even if the item says “no returns”, you can create a dispute about the item and you’ll be refunded all dollars paid. For me, the risk is worth it for the amount I’m saving.

This is not an eBay paid advertisement, just a friend telling a friend about a great way to save some dollars. So, next time you are shopping for an item that you feel sick about paying full retail price for, try the item on, get the information and search for it on eBay.
Let me know how it goes. 😉

Until then, this Rebecca Minkoff bag is my new love. In May, I went on a girl Vegas trip and purchased this Rebecca Minkoff studded wallet on a chain.  It fit perfect for the trip but was an unrealistic everyday situation. Naturally, it went up on eBay; same place I bought it from and I was able to sell it for just about the same amount I purchased it for on eBay. Shortly following, out pooped this larger Studded Affair bag in the photo above.

It’s still lovely in Portland and I’m out for the car hunt. Found myself a cute little used Volvo V50 wagon with a sunroof that I’m purchasing today. Much thanks to you dad and grandma for letting me drive your 1997 Saturn while on my car hunt, it treated me well but I’m ready to drive up HWY 26 without driving in the right lane waving people to pass.

Neon has been somewhere on my body all week. Today my favorite item is this J.Crew pencil skirt I bought just this past winter. When J.Crew runs their “30% off all sale items” it makes me feel like I’ve hit the lotto. Sign up for their emails to get notified when they’re running this. Or not.

Events & Moments

American flags, cupcakes, sunshine and the like

2012 offered Portland a beautiful July 4th and has continued to do so since. The forecast is nothing short of 80 degree clear blue sky days and continues to be for days.

Jeff and I joined my family on my aunt and uncles boat in the early afternoon to BBQ. Later we headed to a friends festive American backyard party; topping off the day with jello shots, libations and good friends. Unfortunately Jeff and I had to attend to our oversized shitzu before we were able to see any fireworks. He’s all man until he hears a boom, melts my heart.

Babes in Vegas | Memorial Day weekend

I’m drop dead serious when I say “no words can describe how fun this weekend was” while celebrating Miss Meesh over Memorial Day weekend. Have you ever had dolla’bills “make it rain” over your head at a Vegas pool party? Close the pool party down, step outside the gates and continue the pool party in the decorative fountains?

Thanks Toptional at the Mandalay, you exceeded our expectations, not once but twice.Man dressed in freedom wear, we’ll never forget you.JLo, your ass was incredible at Hyde. Unfortunately we were all too busy tipping champagne bottles and breaking glasses to see you, needless to say you kept us moving all night long. Kimmy, we thank you for organizing that evening. We may not remember dinner but I’m pretty sure it was a meal well needed.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Wright for Michele is a Portland based lifestyle blog devoted to cultivating stylish, relatable and creative content. It also serves as a personal time capsule of my family’s journeys, giggling and stumbling a bit, through it all.

I started "Wright for Michele" back in 2010 as a creative outlet and to share the things I love (basically the exact same reason the rest of the internet started blogging). Often this blog is about family, sometimes it’s about style, and in general it’s about life and how you (and me) can make every single area in it, better. It’s simple, it’s real (sometimes a little raw and almost always full of grammatical errors), it’s honest and hopefully no matter what it’s a little sweet.
