Color Coded | Oxblood love

Nordstrom Blouse (similar)  |  J. Crew Cardigan  |  Forever 21 Skirt (similar)  |  Vintage Coach Handbag  |  Vera Wang Slip On Platforms

Peter pan collars and oxblood colors are currently being fancied overtime. I’ve been craving my winter wardrobe but am still hanging on tight to my non-sock wearing footwear. During the cold, wet months socks literally went unworn. I’d make them work with any skirt, pant, oxford, heel or boot. Now I’m weening myself off this pacifier! It truly limits my stomping assortment and I vow not to seasonally discriminate in my footwear selection again.

Ah, cleaning up my life. Spent my week cleaning up my house and this webspace. I’ve learned the importance of white space and how it eludes a classic, clean and rich appearance. That’s why I’ve turned to white in all aspects of my life. When Jeff and I bought our house in 2006 we made it a goal to paint every wall in color within the first few months we moved in. Since, we’ve made it a goal to paint every room back to basics; WHITE. Clean, classic and rich.

Color Coded | Treat camo as a neutral

I’m a total masher when it comes to prints. Camo and leopard are great vehicles to mash with just about anything. Vibrant colors, prints, patterns or plaids.  So mush it.. Layer it.. Then work it!

I think Jeff used up all of his cuss words and insults on our photog sesh right before this one (which I have yet to post). It was truly epic and semi-traumatizing. For those of you that know Jeff or us as a couple can confirm that this angry side of “Reffrey” or “Safety Jeff” is totally reasonable, tolerable and quite comical. I sometimes wonder how my obnoxiousness swooped up such a serious yet accommodating and responsible human.

Color coded | Nature’s calling

Seen in green. Mint, kelly, apple, you name it, I’m into it.

This week I’ve been anticipating escaping the city to be in the trees, on the water and surrounded by nature. Camping starts in T minus 18 hours with good friends and couldn’t be happier. By no means will my surroundings look anything of sort to the photo’s above, but I truly could be sitting in the middle of a mud puddle with a smore’s in one hand and a beer in the other and undoubtedly feel like I am. #vacationdeprived

I’ve scored some serious deals on some cute little items and thought I’d share them with you. I tend to get a little impatient while shopping in person; being in a stuffy mall and the feeling of being locked inside with no sight of the outside world gives me the heebies.  But ever so often I’ll venture out and run into some amazing finds I wouldn’t have otherwise found. Details below from top to bottom, left to right:

H&M Sandals – $34.95 adorable and cheap! Click HERE for details
Zara mint Blazer – $59.00 well made and beautiful bright color! Click HERE for details
J.Crew Tessellate Necklace – $38.00 was $89 during their 40% off sale… sign up for their emails. Its sold out but find similar HERE
Rebecca Minkoff Studded Affair Bag – Bought mine on eBay for a third of the price. I suggest you do the same. Wink!
Target wedges – $29.99 shockingly comfortable. Go out now to find them at your local store, I bought mine 2 days ago and they were the only pair. They don’t carry them online. 🙁

That’s all folks. I’m off to wrangle my camping gear and DIY some adult sippy cups out of mason jars. It’s time to PARTY!

Have a good weekend!

Color Coded | Nature’s neons

I am in love with this neon craze that is happening; an 80’s throwback and beautiful hues to capture in nature. As a kid my dresser drawer was filled with Fluorescent socks ready to layer one over the other then paired with Keds, bodysuits layered with shorts and cropped tops splashed with fluorescent paint; I craved trends then as much as I do now. “Back in the day when I was young I’m not a kid anymore but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again”.

I found this bandeau on Tobi.com right before my girls vegas trip in May. I had yet to wear it in Portland until just this last weekend when Portland’s Produce Row held their “Do Over” event, and it was HOT! Jeff and I were convinced we needed to go so we arrived 15 minutes before the event started ensuring ourselves a short wait in line… the line was around the block when we arrived. “All dressed up and no where to go”.  Even better though, we joined our friends Stephanie and Tommy to run around North Portland in the hot sun listening to good music.

You can find this Bandage Bandeau on Tobi.com HERE.
Another online store I talk about frequently is Asos; based in the UK but shipping is free as well as returns. So the great thing about asos is that they carry an awesome selection of brands as well as their own label (my personal favorite and affordable). The clutch shown above came from their ASOS WHITE collection. This particular portfolio clutch is sold out but similar HERE.

Head in the clouds | Sail on

Dipped coral necklace –  Anthropologie
Dipped fingernails – Essie 694 Punchy Pink

This post was inspired by my fierce desire to go sailing… pretty much up there with horse back riding.

Both of which I have never done.
You better believe I am doing both this summer. Fancy that!

Here’s to another sunny weekend, summer trip planning and babe brunches.

Color Coded | Color and Print

Columbia Sportswear through Instagram… Basically these New York trips are Columbia’s Color and Print Committee’s time to research the marketplace and competition. We meet with Global Trend services to share future color direction for the season and Print Design Studio’s to purchase graphics or prints for seasonal inspiration.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Wright for Michele is a Portland based lifestyle blog devoted to cultivating stylish, relatable and creative content. It also serves as a personal time capsule of my family’s journeys, giggling and stumbling a bit, through it all.

I started "Wright for Michele" back in 2010 as a creative outlet and to share the things I love (basically the exact same reason the rest of the internet started blogging). Often this blog is about family, sometimes it’s about style, and in general it’s about life and how you (and me) can make every single area in it, better. It’s simple, it’s real (sometimes a little raw and almost always full of grammatical errors), it’s honest and hopefully no matter what it’s a little sweet.
