Thank you Elena and Adam for letting us be a part of your engagement celebration. You two not only make Jeff and I smile but you also gave me the chance to wear a bow on my head and sequins on my body, again!

Gap just came out with a high-rise (the best cut in my opinion) skinny jean – online only. Simple skinny cut with minimal stitching, dark wash, a little stretch and a hell of a great fit for $69! If you are a gap card member they often send coupons in your inbox for 40% off as well as Reward Certificates. Because of these discounts I snatched this grained leather leopard print calf hair clutch for $29. Also, welcome to WrightforMichele’s newest addition :: The price is Wright. Here I’ll be sharing fashion finds found for cheap so you can benefit from the deals whether it be eBay, internet shopping or local Portland events.

Pebbled all weather leather boat slippers to shuffle around in on simple Sundays. No boat needed.

Have you been aching to update your wardrobe for fall? I’ve spent the last week going through every piece in my closet and have listed 20 new items for sale on eBay. Time consuming yes, but it’s a great way to put dollars away to buy fall must have pieces. It feels good, try it!

Below are a few Dooney & Bourke boat shoes up for grabs on eBay right now.
If you agree and they’re not in your size, search for it.

Personal Style, Shopping

Wright this down | R29 Shop

Did you know that your favorite independent fashion and style website Refinery29 now has it’s own shop? R29 shops for you and sends it straight to your inbox and have for the past year. They served up a glorious smorgasbord of vintage pieces a month ago when I swooped these tropical printed pants up.

Jeff’s birthday lasted a whole week and ended with a bbq in our newly renovated backyard. A big thank you to our friends and family for celebrating this wonderful man with me.

August’s eBay share: Devi Dress by Jen Kao’s Mah Na Mah Na

A kaleidoscope of vibrant florals and geometric shapes cover this loose bodycon pullover dress to perfection. I first laid eyes on this easy dramatic stunner at Anthropologie during a sale carried only in a size too large for me. So I did as I usually do and took a photo of the tag and searched eBay. mah na, mah na!

Below are a few beauts up for grabs on eBay right now. If you think they are too and they’re not in your size, search for it. Chances are it will pop up eventually.

Curate your life

Dress: Nasty Gal  |  Shorts : 18th Amendment (old)  |  Sandals : Free People

What inspires me most about this blog space is my consistent referencing. Its like little pieces of personal history. Life’s curated creative bits. My story and passions. Connecting with the outside world. And most importantly, it’s all mine. I want to thank the people who have given me the kind words and confidence that motivates me to continue. Without you I would have no outlet.

In saying that, I’ll use this time to catch up on life events. 2013 has certainly provided Jeff and I with many. In the last 3 months we’ve been through an insulation and sheetrock project, backyard renovation (pictures to come), a shihtsu knee surgery and a family of rats nesting in our basement (one would wonder why I share this?)… and all at once! Our house literally went from being in beautifully perfect working order to complete chaos for months. Repainting every wall, furniture everywhere, muddy backyard, a dog that can’t walk in our house because of our steep stairs and slippery hardwoods (but thinks he can), and a foul scent of rat decomposition.  Well I, Michele Ann Wright report live tonight that all said obstacles have been resolved and the Wright’s will now begin their summer.

Bike ride Sunday’s in full stride.

June’s eBay share: J. Crew Striped Cotton-Blend Mini Skirt.
This striped machine was sold out on J. Crew’s site so I swooped it up off eBay from a crazy seller who was willing to give this banding beauty away.
A little about stripes from me to you. Whether it’s black and white, to clashes of color and quirky mixed prints, there’s a multitude of ways to wear stripes this summer.
The black and white approach allows you to go bold by keeping things classy and basic. For a bigger impact opt for oversized silhouettes, unique fabrics and super-clean lines. I personally opt for clashing stripes against big and small florals, paisleys and patterns. It recreates a look each time you pair it with a new contrasting pattern. Seek for bright, unexpected and loud juxtapositions and wear them with pure confidence. If you aren’t brave enough for this type of combination, turn to bold stripes on feminine silhouettes like summer dress and flowy fabrics. Nautical stripes are your safest most classic stripe option.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Wright for Michele is a Portland based lifestyle blog devoted to cultivating stylish, relatable and creative content. It also serves as a personal time capsule of my family’s journeys, giggling and stumbling a bit, through it all.

I started "Wright for Michele" back in 2010 as a creative outlet and to share the things I love (basically the exact same reason the rest of the internet started blogging). Often this blog is about family, sometimes it’s about style, and in general it’s about life and how you (and me) can make every single area in it, better. It’s simple, it’s real (sometimes a little raw and almost always full of grammatical errors), it’s honest and hopefully no matter what it’s a little sweet.
