Columbia Safari Jacket

1 dsc_0012 3c dsc_0016
Columbia’s Brooklyn Avenue™ Safari Jacket  |  Levi’s Collared Button-Down (similar)  |  Crew-neck Sweater   |  Cords  |  Jeffrey Cambpell platform lace ups (old)

Shout out to Anya Gorson who designed this jacket for Columbia. I haven’t taken it off since it started raining here in Portland.
Jeff and I were supposed to run around in a corn maize this weekend but the rain wouldn’t let up for a moment. Instead we ate and sipped wine per usual. No complaining here, I’m enjoying the layers winter brings. Hope you’re staying dry. Stay safe on the East coast!

Today’s outfit

Okay, yah. For those of you who saw me today you’re right, it’s not today’s outfit but a couple of days ago. Today has a better ring then “the day before yesterdays outfit”.

This washed chambray shirt is the softest item in my closet. It’s so incredibly silky soft, drapey and the best shade of blue chambray. I loved it so much I bought it in the dress HERE and almost the tank HERE.

Dressing in colours of three! Don’t be shy, you can’t go wrong. Mix it up!

Outfit | Woodland sweatshirt

Backpacking adventure pretty much printed on jersey. Asos carries this sweater in many different prints, check them out.

So I’m pretty much worthless this week. I caught something that has made every joint in my body to ache, every swallow to sting and every noise to pound. I’ve only left the couch 4 times today for less then 5 minutes and I told myself I wouldn’t do it again each time. I’m a whiner when I’m immobile. I’m a bit bummed that I’m missing this beautiful weather.
Wish me luck for a speedy recovery or this could get ugly.

What I wore | Kate & Brandons Wedding!

House of Harlow Sunglasses
Rachel Pally Gauze dress
Urban Outfitters necklace (old)
Vintage Coach Satchel
Ring – House of Harlow knockoff from Sloan Boutique in Portland
Vintage military shirt with DIY studs
Steve Madden platform sandals
Kate and Brandon, your wedding knocked our socks off. Intimate, charming and absolutely gorgeous and couldn’t be more happy for you two. Thanks for including us in your big day!

These photo’s were taken by my lovely friend Brittney… Jeff wouldn’t have any part of it per usual. I avoided mine and Jeff’s typical banter of cuss words and eye rolls and asked Brittney to take some photo’s for me.
Brittney is absolutely on the top of my favorite people on this planet. For a girl full of compliments to give, I’d love to know what she’d say if she met herself for the first time; she’d absolutely die. She’s a gem inside and out. Love you!

crowded calendar summer 2012
Birthdays, bookclub, BBQ’s, Hood to Coast, family gatherings, weddings, bachelorette party’s, camping, hiking, dinner parties, concerts, did I mention weddings?  Since the weather changed from rain to sunshine my calendar has been stuffed with glory and no time to do what I enjoy most; blog about things I love.

People often ask me about who takes the photo’s of me in my blog. Currently I’m using my Cannon point and shoot (which sucks) because my Nikon SLR is being serviced for the past month and am looking forward to getting it back. Anyways, the lucky non-photographer photographer is my husband Jeff. Yes, Jeff gets the privilege of taking all my photo’s and absolutely loves it. For example, some of the responses I get from him when handing him the camera are “FUCK, REALLY!” and “Are you serious, It’s 100 degree’s out, I’m sweating and we’re going to be late!” or my personal favorite, “I hate you right now!”. To me these behind the scenes moments are the highlights of my blog because it makes me laugh so hard, but no one gets to enjoy these like I do so I’ll try to share these moments with you from now on for your enjoyment. Oh, the torture I sprinkle upon him! Yet it is true that he does not favor the photo snapping I have to remember he is my biggest fan and the most proud and supportive person in my life. For that, I love you Mr Wright and thank you for being the patient man that you are.

Until next outfit post where you’ll get to read a little blurb about Jeff’s latest photo snapping tantrum. WATER YOUR GRASS… obviously we haven’t.

Bend, Oregon | Erin & Andrew

First off, congratulations Erin and Andrew!
Super fun long weekend in Bend, Oregon the last weekend of June celebrating these two. Rehearsal dinner, day float on the Deschutes River, horseback riding (finally made it happen) and wedding day blowout.

I have to say a little blurb about this Roarke necklace that I wore with the orange H&M dress above. It’s a pricey piece I typically wouldn’t splurge on had it not been for my wedding. While searching for a perfect wedding neck situation I stumbled across a blog article about two women who created these beautiful hand crafted necklaces. I knew they had just started their company so I emailed them about needing to own one of their amazing pieces for my wedding and was able to get them to sell it to me for a discount. The power of just asking. 🙂 Perfect piece to pair with an old T and jeans.

ABOUT THE BLOG

Wright for Michele is a Portland based lifestyle blog devoted to cultivating stylish, relatable and creative content. It also serves as a personal time capsule of my family’s journeys, giggling and stumbling a bit, through it all.

I started "Wright for Michele" back in 2010 as a creative outlet and to share the things I love (basically the exact same reason the rest of the internet started blogging). Often this blog is about family, sometimes it’s about style, and in general it’s about life and how you (and me) can make every single area in it, better. It’s simple, it’s real (sometimes a little raw and almost always full of grammatical errors), it’s honest and hopefully no matter what it’s a little sweet.
